CONCEPT.IO is a multi-user / multi-domain arena [1] that allows the integration of the 6 different domains (terrestrial/naval/air/space/social/cyber) operated by different stakeholders, with the ability to place autonomous or controlled virtual artifacts, and control/represent real artifacts.
CONCEPT.IO‘s proposal is open innovation. At CONCEPT.IO it is possible to connect systems (at different times of the life cycle) and enable the simulation of tactics, techniques and procedures, both of the military ecosystem and of the civil ecosystem. Those interested can use the arena to set up their regions of interest and visualize/interact with the elements in simulation.
The structuring of the elements of the scene in simulation can be configured in a fixed way, or generated through variations of the space of options, and may also have their metrics analyzed and new arrangements proposed, as well as the systems to be connected can come from different sources such as MBSE tools, hardware-in-the-loop and/or other software.
There will be specific events that the arena can be adapted to a given map and perform the simulation of an operational context, in the rest of the time a standard map will be made available, updated in real time (1:1 of the time) with conditions and some real data entries from the map location.
Computationally, the arena is just a centralizer of a distributed simulation. Each element, of each domain, is a simulation node that can be distributed on one machine or on different machines.
Architecture
The following figure describes the features of the CONCEPT.IO Arena, being divided into 4 blocks: (i) Arena Back-end and services - in green; (ii) Front-end - in blue; (iii) Scenario Control - in red and (iv) Users - in gray.
